VAT Accountant / VAT Specialist (Finance)

Our client is one of the fastest growing telecommunication and Network solutions providers in the world and is one of the leading suppliers in the field of Broadband Network, Optical Access Network, Data communication, Intelligent Network, Mobile Network and Video conferencing. Our client has subsidiaries worldwide and supplies its products and solutions to more than 60 countries amongst other The Netherlands, UK, Spain, Portugal, France, Sweden, Russia, Brazil, Peru, South Korea, Australia, Thailand etc. Due to continuous growth in Europe our client is expanding its VAT department.

• In this VAT position you will be reporting to the VAT manager Europe
• Preparing and filing in a timely manner of VAT returns, Intrastat returns
• Monthly general ledger VAT account reconciliation in compliance with the corporate Balance Sheet review process and account reconciliation policy
• Monthly reconciliations of sales reported in VAT return to turnover (P&L) to validate monthly return filings and to support annual company audits   
• Arranging timely payment of VAT to various EU countries and collecting in VAT monies due
• Advising internal and external customers on correct VAT/Intrastat procedures.
• Handling VAT, Intrastat enquiries from authorities
• Assist in VAT audits in EMEA countries
• Control and advice on internal VAT documentation
• Advice accounts payable and the other departments with respect to invoicing requirements for different countries and correct VAT treatment of transactions
• Advising management on VAT (compliance) issues
• Participate in projects on an ad-hoc basis

• The ideal candidate has an academic or HBO financial/fiscal law background
• Experience in international VAT compliance
• Experience with multiple countries VAT registration
• Excellent understanding of English
• Excellent communication skills
